February – 18 – 2015 —— Lake Erie Fly Fishing Presentation: Steelhead and Beyond – with Patrick Campbell

FOM Outfitters owner and KFG staffer Patrick Campbell will be delivering his presentation on lake Erie fly fishing. Patrick will introduce you to lake Erie and explain why fall run steelhead is just one part of what makes Erie a great destination fishing experience. Patrick will cover fall run brown trout and steelhead as well as spring run steelhead and smallmouth bass.

Keystone Fly Guides will have a table demonstrating fly tying and we will also be holding a casting demonstration. We proudly support DFCA and their continued efforts to protect and improve Donegal creek.


 

March – 29 – 2015 ——- Pa Fly Fish | Newbie Jam

Keystone Fly Guides is proud to support and provide casting instruction at the PaFlyFish.com newbie Jam. Here is the info:

Location: The Wildlands Conservancy, Emmaus PA

Date & Time: Sunday, March 29th. 8AM to 4PM

Open to the public, free admission.

The purpose of this event is to share the extensive knowledge of some of our members with beginners, newcomers to the sport of fly fishing, and those just seeking to expand their fly fishing skills.

Itinerary:

8AM – 8:30AM: Meet & Greet. Coffee, donuts, and spring water will be provided.
8:30 – Noon: Instructional Presentations #1 through #7
Noon – 2PM: Lunch Break
2PM – 4PM: On-Stream Fly Fishing Instruction (near the fly shop, on Fish Hatchery Road)

Presentations:

#1 Gear/Setup – “Head to Toe”
#2 Fly Fishing Knot Instruction (hands on) and Leader Setups
#3 Entomology (What trout eat, and their imitations)
#4 Fly Tying Demonstration.
#5 Fly Casting Instruction.
#6 “Where to Fish”.
#7 “How To Find & Catch Trophy Size Trout”

We’re looking forward to a fun and educational day, meeting new friends, and attracting newcomers to the sport of fly fishing. Come join us!

April – 25 – 2015 ——- Ladies Coldwater Conservation Breakfast

8 a.m. – 1pm

Donegal Trout Unlimited Womens Coldwater Conservation breakfast is a public event for any women interested in learning more about TU’s coldwater conservation initiative. This event is open to any women interested in learning more about our coldwater resources and fly-fishing. Keystone Fly Guides will be present to teach and assist participants with fly casting.
